Murphy's law! Same here… always forgetting the small details that are essential. crevice-picks, pans, shovels, a hose or important parts for the dredge!
Once you are 3-4 hrs from home, you can hear "F####CK"!!! miles away… LOL!

Yes the gold is on the surface.But you have to get an eye for it and that only takes finding your first sample.I have gold I found on the ground and in old mines but it can be dangerous.Please be careful!

that place was strip mined at 1 time down where he was at. it was owned by a mine co for a long time it might still be? last time i went back in 94 there were claim markers everywhere and i went in to look and they had sluce boxes bolted into concrete in the ground.

That is SO funny you said you forgot your shovel. I am the same way in the excitement for looking for gold. One time I forgot my legs to my highbanker and One time I had the dredge all packed up and forgot my suction hose. I put the power jet down low in the river and shoveled like crazy all day. It way embarrassing. Luckily nobody drove by that knew me. Ha Ha Ha.
