Comments on Gold panning made easy. 40 + years experience
is that a stainless steel pan?
No it's a regular pan,
Thanks for your question.
John
well could you explain what kind of a pan is it? would that technique work with a stainless steel pan?
i feel like running down to the local creek with a pan from the kitchen. i know the only thing i'll get is a sore back by the end of it all.
To begin with, is there any gold to be found in the toronto area in ontario or would i be wasting my time?
Hi orangedac, The pan is just a regular metal pan.
There are gold baring creeks in Ontario just read some History books for your area. If gold was ever taken out there will still be some to be found.
Good Luck and thanks for your email.
John
How much did it weigh? I know the gold price is around 28 usd per gram, but that couldn't possibly be 71 grams of gold, or is it really that dense?
Hi no they were not 71 grams but natural nuggets that size take on extra value. But gold is very dense.
Thanks for your comment and happy panning…
Cool beans. I've never found a nugget, at least not that big. I have one more question that i've never found the answer to online. Is gold uv-reactive? By that i mean, does it give off a glow under uv-lights?
It would speed up the process of finding placer pockets.
Hi Bleppe, Sorry I'm just a British Columbia Historian, But I can tell you with some confidence that gold dose not react to UV-Light. I think the guy that took some Gold Nugget trained gofers, to the Yukon Rush of 1898, well I think he had the right idea? "ha-ha" Keepup the good hunt…
John
This is great will be keeping this in mind if I ever get the chance to pan. 5/5
Awesome mate! thanks for sharing this , now going to get myself a nice pan, and harvest that beauty.. ^_^
