Prospecting for gold, on the North Saskatchewan River near Edmonton! Edmonton has a rich history of gold mining, used to be a time when a man could do an ounce of gold or more in a day. Gold was worth far less in those days, but today that would be a healthy amount. The fine gold in the river is known as flour gold, or float gold, and gets slowly replenished in the river every year. I am using a LeTrap highbanker with a 2" pump from Walmart (Cheap Hyundai pump, same as the ones at Princess Auto) Many claim to be able to recover an ounce of gold a week on the river around Edmonton, and northern Alberta. All major rivers in Alberta carry some amount of gold. Peace River, Athabasca, Smokey, and Red Rivers for sure. The gold can even be traced as far as Saskatchewan and to the Manitoba border in diminishing quantities. With a boat it is possible to access the less worked parts of the rivers, and work the paying gravel bars that few can get to. I have test panned down the river for a whole summer and only came across one other prospector! Lots of river for all.

Unedited video scenes of life and gold mining-prospecting in Western Australia, Redcastle, Never Can Tell mine area. After finding a few rough gold nuggets with ironstone sticking to them, systematic loaming of the area resulted in finding aa complex set of qtz veins hosted in foliated metamorphic rocks (schist). The hole in the video is opened right on the find where the fine gold is leading down at an angle of 60-70deg (dip)....will be posting progress of this work as it continues; it may be a significant gold find deeper down.....follow the progress if you like...

I was overseas and left my GPX5000 with Ludwig with instructions that he keep detecting around the old Never Can Tell mine shaft. I told him the rule is 10 pieces of junk to one piece of gold.Well I was still overseas when he telephoned me one day very excited. He said the rule is 20 pieces of junk to 1 piece of gold! But he said he kept sweeping the rusty iron bits in one spot until he reached bedrock and he was still getting a loud signal. He then proceeded to blow away the last bits of sand and dust when he noticed glints of yellow stuck in the calcrete. As you can see in this clip he is showing me for the first time the golden boulder he pried out with a jackhammer and its exact position. This find is simply incredible, number one because the old mine shaft is only 3meters away and second there must have been at least a thousand prospectors hit this place with everything imaginable...it was quite windy that day and excuse the poor sound quality. Please note I hold the mining title encompassing the mine and surrounding areas before you head out there thinking to look around before asking. Thanks

www.california-gold-rush-miner.us Gold prospecting is still going on in California. This is part 2 of a two part video. Many of the large operations are gone, but, weekend miners and gold prospecting have taken their place. This video is at the Cargo Muchacho Mountains located in the Sonoran Desert in southeastern California in the United States. The range lies northwest of Yuma, Arizona. The mountains were home to the American Girl Mine, and the Golden Bee and Cargo gold mines.
www.goldpanningbc.com - These Underwater Viewers are super easy to build and cost less than each. These ones are designed for Gold Prospecting but they are also great for fishing (looking into streams or lakes) and great fun for kids on camping trips too. These 2 units took less than 1 hours to make and do not require any fancy tools. In this video I used the back tailgate of my pickup to show they can be built anywhere! IMPORTANT: Since making this video, some friends have mentioned they could not work fast enough with the ABS cement and feel silicone is better. If you use silicone, make sure you only apply it only to the outside of the pipe where the coupling is put on so silicone does not push out on the Lexan lens. Then make sure you put some weight on the coupling until the silicone sets up. If you don't use some weight, the coupling may slide back a little. I am not sure what the science is behind this, but it may happen, so use some weight like a brick or similar item.
